The Seychelles.
The Republic of Seychelles is an archipelago country in the Indian Ocean, it lies 1,500 kilometres east of mainland East Africa. Victoria is the capital of the 115 islands of the Seychelles.
We visited 3 islands during our trip with the Seychelles Tourism Board : Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
. Mahé island
Mahé is the largest island of Seychelles, it contains the capital city of Victoria, the international airport and accommodates 86% of the country’s total population. We spent the 2 first days in Mahé but unfortunately the weather wasn’t with us during this time, it was raining a lot so we didn’t do much except swimming under the rain and eating a lot of local food, and let me tell you, the Créole food here is so delicious !
We spent one last day again in Mahé at the end of our trip before going back to France, and we were more lucky with the weather so we decide to visit the Four Seasons Resorts and its beautiful beach until our very last sunset.
. Praslin island
Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles, it’s accessible by boat from Mahé but also by flight.
This island is full of life and nature, this is where you can find La Vallée de Mai : a nature park and UNESCO World Heritage Site on the island. It consists of a well-preserved palm forest, flagship species made up of the island endemic coco de mer.
We also visited some wonderful beaches : Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette at the hotel Constance Lémuria were my favorite ones.
. La Digue island
La Digue is the most famous island of the Seychelles, but there is a reason, it’s really the most beautiful one. I fell in love as soon as we arrived on the island. Cars are forbidden on La Digue, so everyone is using bikes and I think this is so cool !
There is no airport in La Digue so you have to come by boat from Mahé or Praslin.
We went to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world : Anse Source d’Argent, the water is so clear and all these big rocks along the beach make the place so mystic and magical. We loved it so much that we canceled our plans for the next day because we wanted to come back here and enjoy this beauty again. We rented some crystal kayaks and paddles and we had so much fun that I never wanted to leave this place.
Thank you so much to STB, Kenny and Randy for this wonderful trip.
